A slip ring is a unique method of making an electrical connection through a rotating assembly. It is well-known in various nomenclatures like rotation connectivity, spin-pass, electrical rotary joints, rotating electrical connectors, rotary electrical interfaces. Basically, it is an electromechanical device that allows the transmission of power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. The rotating part commonly known as the rotor is attached to the rotation structure of the device whereas the stationary component commonly known as the stator is attached to the fixed part.
The role of coaxial rotary joint slip rings is very significant in the transmission of high-frequency coax rotary joint signals. Its application is very vital in HD surveillance systems, radar systems, military weapon systems, etc. The frequency could be high up to 50 GHz is one of the important features of this slip ring.
